Lock Screen Feature
Make lds gospel library available as a lock screen similar to where bing cycles through pictures of the day, you could do temples of the day
55 votesThis was more relevant when windows phone was an issue. Currently we are planning on providing notifications which would be a similar but different functionality.

have collections be able to store specific talks or book chapters for quick reference.
Currently, collections can only include entire books. I think it would be great to be able to add specific talks, book chapters and even import .PDFs (example: talks from BYU Speeches) so a collection so I can find them quickly.

Highlighting box option: Add an option to put a box around a section of text
Add the ability to put a box around a section of text. This would be especially useful if one could also underline key words within the box.
Example: I would like to put a box around the parable of the Good Samaritan but then just underline the one key word Samaritan.30 votesJust not possible with the need to merge annotations across platforms using existing annotation server capabilities.

Live Tile Idea
It would be cool to have the apps main tile flip through the inspirational messages shown on the apps home screen.
25 votesBecause we were asked to discontinue the Inspirational Messages feature, this is no longer a possibility.

Add ability to see Patriarchal Blessings
On lds.org, I now have the ability to see my Patriarchal Blessing.
It would be really nice to be able to see that image in GL. Also, I understand I can request blessings for my ancestors. It would be great to be able to access those too.24 votes -
Add ability to add custom content.
I have various church-related books in various formats, including things like Mormon Doctrine, etc.
While I know they are not officially church doctrine, I would still like to be able to easily access them via the app.14 votesNot possible without backend changes.

BYU Speeches Integration
Be able to study/annotate BYU speeches in the Gospel Library App.
11 votesWe are dependent on the Brethren to approve what content we put in Gospel Library. The volunteer Windows development team does not have influence on this process. If the Brethren ever do decide to integrate BYU speeches into Gospel Library we will definitely try to support it in the Windows version.

Put an updated list of all of the scripture masteries as a button on the bottom of the screen.
This would be helpful for me as a seminary student to be able to get to all of the different scripture masteries in a matter of moments.
10 votesScripture mastery is no long a Church seminary focus with our limited resources we have to focus on what the Church does.

Search my own notes and notebooks
I'd love to be able to find something I've written previously, either in a note or in a notebook.
10 votesClose as duplicate.

place Seminary and Institute back under one heading. with the last change I have to go to three different places to get all that I need.
place all the seminary and Institute topics/manuals, training resources, devotionals etc... all under one topic instead of making us guess which place you put it. Today they were moved so that I had to go to three different places to get what I needed. that is terribly annoying.

Add a unique scripture viewing mode for deeper spiritual understanding
An amazing feature that should seriously be considered is a single scripture viewing mode, where the user is able to see one verse appear at a time, rephrase the verse in their own words, have their input saved, and the verse swiped upwards and a new verse appear. Once the chapter is completed, the user's verse summaries are compiled and accessible anytime the user would like to refresh their memory on what they understood occurred within a completed chapter. This may encourage scripture reading, changing it from a daunting task to a rather fun and insightful experience.
9 votesRemoved for apparent vote manipulation.

Leave all students institute and seminary manuals in the gospel library including old versions unless there is updated replacement..
I noticed that the D&C student manual was removed from the gospel library. I am a Seminary teacher and I often refer to the student institute manuals because they are a great resource for quotes and further insights that are not included in the teacher's versions of the institute or seminary manuals.

Making Line Connections
On my physical scriptures I like to make lines between verses in order to connect ideas. Is it possible to duplicate this function in the app?
8 votesIn the application we try to accomplish the same goal by linking scriptures rather than drawing a line. This allows us to go across all content and not be limited to the same page. You can link items by highlighting the text and making a link or using the new notes screen.

We were specifically asked to remove the Inspirational Messages feature and so, with version 4.0.0.0, it has been removed completely from the app and will not be returning.

Share and sync Tags or Notebooks with other users
It would be really great to be able to share a Tag or Notebook like one shares a Google Doc -- where edits/additions can be seen by other users, so users could collaboratively study a topic and share their insights together. This would be really helpful in the context of the new "Come, Follow Me" curriculum, which encourages studying with family members and others.
(I realize this would require changes to more than just the Windows app, so if there's a better place to request this feature, just let me know. 🙂)
6 votesAs noted in the suggestion, this requires major backend changes in order to even be possible. As we’re volunteers who work in Gospel Library for Windows in our spare time, we have no power to change the backend to accommodate something like this. It’s highly unlikely that such a feature would be implemented because of the major changes required. Your best bet would be to send feedback through the iOS or Android version of the app.

Multiple sets of scriptures
The ability to have multiple sets of scriptures that I can mark and annotate then save the annotations, and be able to open a completely new set of scriptures (almost like buying a new clean unmarked set). So that I can have the previous annotations and markings saved and be able to also work on a new one.
6 votesThis feature already exists in Gospel Library for Windows in the form of the Visible Notebooks feature.
