Custom Color/Style Labels
When selecting the colors to highlight or underline, it would be extremely useful to be able to assign labels for them to help customize the functionality on a personal level. For instance when highlighting, selecting the highlight from the drop down, it would pull up a list of the colors that I have chosen, and next to each color would be a subject title that I have assigned.
This would make studies easier and more efficient because they would then be able to make more sense on a personal level and be able to allow us to see things in a way that makes sense individually.
Admin Note: This suggestion was originally two suggestions in one, including the ability to customize highlighter colors. Because highlighter color selection (from a set of six preset color sets) is now implemented in the beta (as of beta 3.0.32.0), we've removed it from this suggestion, but didn't want to lose the label suggestion or its ideas.
Like the idea need dev resources in order to put in the plan.

also, the current intensity of the color on highlighted verses is too high, its hard to read highlighted scripture. i have had to change some highlighted passages to underlined passages just so i could read them.
my addition to this suggestion is to reduce the color intensity of the highlights, like it appears on android devices.
thanks for the great work and beautiful app

The color pallet for scripture marking is laid out horizontally. Instead, have the color selections laid out vertically, and next to each color box allow the user to input text indicating the subjects they have assigned to those colors.
For example next to the color box:
Red : Christ, Atonement, Sacrifice
Purple: Temples, Priesthood, ordinances
etcThe discipline of matching the scripture to the color/subject will increase understanding.
Perhaps there could be a toggle, to switch between this and the more simple marking app we now have. Once one is selected it should stay till it is changed. -

I was going to add the following as an idea...but searching previous idea's I think this one sounds like it might allow for more colors (I voted for Custom Color/Style Labels.....
My Idea.....Currently 8 highlighting colours/colors in apps (Win and Android that I use)...any chance 10 colors if so I recommend a new dark green (to go with current light green)...most pencil highlighter sets have two ie light or dark colours for blue/green/brown etc, so my actual print scriptures match my online scriptures with highlighting colors. -

It would also be nice to be able to choose between highlighting and underlining when creating the note.

I love this idea! Right now, I have my color labels defied in a notebook that I keep open in a separate tab/window (depending on the device I'm using).

I like the idea of assigning topic names to the colors, in addition, it would be helpful to be able to choose the transparency level of the highlights as it is in indexing.

Custom colors would need to be supported in iOS, Android, and LDS.org.

That would help so much with remembering what color means what, even in my hard copy scriptures I usually have a key in the front so I can remember.

I like this option in a way but Even having more options of colors would work as well. the colors that are available are all used up from the color coding in the Preach My Gospel (except for the brown and it is not a favorite color of mine) but even a paler color of purple that would make the matchup a little closer than the one that is provided now.
I guess what I am looking for is a color that is for my favorite scriptures, that are not included from the Preach My Gospel tabs and one that I can find a color for in crayon or color pencil, as I am also duplicating this to my hard copy so that I have it in my studies in case of a power outage or something.
But more options would be nice.

I would love to see color labels. Anything that helps keep my studies organized would be great.
