I figured out a way to do this already:

I created two tags: "Scriptures YET to Memorize" and "Scriptures I HAVE Memorized"

When I come across a verse that I like and want to memorize, I highlight the verse in one color and then add the tag "Scriptures YET to Memorize". Later when I have memorized the scripture, I add the tag: "Scriptures I HAVE Memorized" then remove the tag "Scriptures YET to Memorize", and finally change my highlight color.

I open a screen and search my respective tags of either "Scriptures I HAVE Memorized" or "Scriptures YET to Memorize" and ONLY the verses that I have highlighted and tagged come up. Instant flash cards.

With this can you make an advanced search feature that would search for words within a certain range? e.g. Search the words 'Go', 'things', 'Lord' within 10 words or each other to bring up 1 Nephi 3:7 (among other search results).

This was a feature on the Church website back about 10 years.

    Boolean logic would be:
    Exact Phrase: No Commandments
    AND
    Word: Things
    AND
    Word: Go
    AND
    Word: Lord
    RANGE: Within 10 Words

This would return 1 Nephi 3:7 (among other searches)

NOTE: The Range would be able to span multiple verses to allow for text to be found across multiple verses, but still within the range as long as at least 1 of the queried words or exact phrase was within the selected range from word to word (e.g. in the example above at least 10 words, the exact phrase of "No Commandments" is within 10 words of Lord). For words or phrases that span multiple verses using the 10 Commandments as an example, if the words 'kill', 'steal,' and 'adultery' were used within 10 words the query would return: Exodous 20:13-15, and Mosiah 13:21-22

To prevent people from making too long of queries, you could limit the number or words and/or phrases up to 3 to 5 search terms.
